What drives the price
Three things decide the cost of a Sri Lanka holiday: the season, the hotels and whether you travel privately or in a group. December to March is peak season, when hotel rates are highest. Boutique and luxury hotels can cost several times as much as a well-run comfort hotel in the same town. And a private tour with your own driver-guide costs more per person than a small group tour – less so if you travel as a family or with friends.
